New iPhone App Combats Our Worst Fear

April 5, 2010

People fear public speaking more than death, a survey says, and now a new iPhone App deals with that dread.  ProSpeak® , introduced by Communispond, shows you how to meet three critical needs for making a presentation that's memorable and persuasive without causing anxiety:

  1. Preparing Your Presentation: This part gives tips and tactics for organizing your message.

  2. Delivering With Impact: This part demonstrates Communispond's Eye-Brain Control technique for using the eyes to make a personal connection with the audience and avoid the common "audience scanning" practice that causes the jitters.  It has three coaching features.  You can talk to the Vocal Coach to learn the right speaking volume.  Holding the app, use the Energy Coach to learn purposeful hand and arm movement that revs up the audience and helps you underscore your important points. View the Visual Coach to establish the posture and body movement that projects authority and confidence.

  3. Present With Visuals: This part shows how to use visuals like PowerPoint to clarify your message and make it more persuasive.

The App's three parts can be used in any sequence.  The second part's three coaching features can be stopped at any time for feedback.  Communispond, now in its 41st year, has trained over 600,000 persons to present more effectively. It plans to continue adding features to Prospeak, including between 30-50 by mid-2010.

Talking about the fear of public speaking, Woody Allen said that more people at a funeral would rather be in the coffin than delivering a eulogy.  ProSpeak will help you join the eulogizers. For more information on ProSpeak, go to http://www.communispond.com/prospeak
